Why I Decided to Blog Again

March 18th, 2010 by Kerri Karvetski

A few years ago I joined blog mania and launched a nonprofit communications blog for my business. It failed. Let’s call that blog “She’s Just Not That Into You.”

I ignored that blog and began sharing in other ways. I’m a prodigious bookmarketeer on Delicious. I Tweet. I’m IN on LinkedIn. Some have called me their favorite Facebook curator.

You can see this sharing in action on my homepage.

But it’s not enough. If you want to be taken seriously as a nonprofit communicator, a blog is the way to go.

It is also my turn to give back. Sharing is the hallmark of nonprofit communicators, and the good ones make it look flawless – Kivi, Heather M, Nancy, Beth, John, Katya, Mark, Holly and the folks at NTEN, Allyson, Jocelyn, Laura, Peter, Heather G-M, Debra and Allison. I’m sure I’ve forgotten someone, but that’s the good thing about blogs. I can update them.

To honor these smart, generous folks, I resurrect KK’s blog. I’ll do my best to earn your eyeballs for a few minutes.

  6. Kari, I echo Allison’s comment that I’m incredibly honored to be mentioned in such august company.

I’m so glad that you decided to blog again! It was such a thrill meeting you at SXSW, and I look forward to a much longer conversation at NTC (I hope!) where I can learn from you. Meanwhile, I can’t wait to check back in here and read what you’ve got to share. Sharing rocks :)

  7. And please forgive – I know it’s Kerri, not Kari. Must have been a very forgetful moment…
